Rancho Mastatal

We left Uvita early on the morning of December 26th, before dawn. We weren’t quite clear where the bus was leaving from, but we ran into some locals, and figured it out. After swinging through Dominical, we headed north toward Quepos. For whatever reason, the road from Dominical to Quepos is dirt, and rather rough. So after a few hours of bumping along, we made it to Quepos mid-morning.

Quepos is not somewhere fun to hang out. Total tourist town, dirty with no real charm to compensate. Kelly and I resorted to just sitting waiting. I did a little internet. We finally got on the next bus in the early afternoon, and made it to Mastatal around suppertime.
